Makoto Raiku est un scénariste et dessinateur japonais né le 23 août 1974 à Gifu.

Biographie

Makoto Raiku est né le 23 août 1974 dans le département de Gifu. À 17 ans il publie sa première histoire : "Birdman" (1991).
Il devient ensuite assistant de Fujita Kazuhiro (Karakuri Circus, Ushio et Tora).
C’est avec plusieurs one-shots qu’il commence à se faire connaître et en 1999 sort sa première série manga : "New Town Heroes".
En 2001, il débute son nouveau manga Zatch Bell (Konjiki no Gash Bell en japonais) grâce auquel il remporte le 48e prix Shogakukan en 2003.
Depuis la petite tête ronde de Zatch orne régulièrement les couvertures du magazine Shonen Sunday dont la série est un des piliers.
Une version animée de Zatch Bell produite par Toei animation sort peu après et remporte un franc succès au Japon.
